and this is how we get by....

what a vacation I'm having! 3 shows with Kim! yay!
Last night at Britt Daniels was awesome! It was way better than I thought, and me and Kim had a great time... there was lots of laughing and joking...and hanging out with her old friends. It was a fun night overall. Oh and i'm getting good at this recording business...the show turned out loud and clear.

Only a few more days here at home...then back to school for finals. I'm so behind but I'm so happy being out and about going to shows, hanging out in the city. It's really nice.

Oh here are the pictures

The show was great! It was my first time recording with my new mic and it sounded great. I'm so proud...and I can't stop listening to it. Slean show is next @ Joe's Pub! It'll be the best show yet.
Let's see so much to do over the break....homework, shopping for gifts, watch Bridget Jones with Annie, visit RJ, and Jimmy's office for recommendations, ooh so much to do...

she's convinced she could hold back a glacier

I've done absolute no work today...it's just one of those days that you just want to sit around and be as wasteful as possible.
So I was chatting with Kim today about Tori, and now I've been listening to her once again...I must admit it's been awhile, and now I"m in love again. Like Kim said...her songs marks a period in your life, and it really brings you back. I can't wait for her new record!!

you say you don't want it again
and again but you don't really mean it
you say you don't want it
this circus we're in
but you don't
you don't really mean it
you don't really mean it

Cause its sometimes wise just to shut your eyes...

it's 3am and i'm still up doing work. Took two naps today, I think I can handle another all nighter...We had our first snow (storm) a couple of days ago, I guess it was time. I've been listening to interviews of Slean & Arthur lately and I can't help to draw the similiarties between them. Both recently came out with their new CD completed with their artworks done during their "crisis" Slean rented a truck and brought her piano to live in a cabin in the middle of nowhere to record, while Arthur put his stuff at storage and left his NYC apartment for good. Both returned inspired. Now they're touring and writing beautiful words on the website. (Sarah Talks & on the Road) Hearing all the talk about making absolute beauty and art makes me want to join their parade...but it's a luxuory i can't afford.

hey glorious young. hope you've been busy making mad beauty. i'm counting on you.
nothing is litter, it's all gold. I love you,.... -ss

just one more week or so till Thanksgiving break. yay! I think if there's anytime to be happy during my lifetime, the time is now...the new place, the friends, the shows...the music. It's been really good.

trying to find anything, that you can feel, that you can believe in...

So many things to write about...the trip last week most of all. My first time missing two days of classes and I was a little nervous at first, but it turned out alright. It was lots of bus riding and transfering here and there but I can't complain too much. I was so tired but so happy at the same time to be out and doing what I I love and seeing JA. It's a wonderful feeling to do something you love so much and not really care if you're exhausted or haven't eaten anything the whole day. It reminded me what what Hawksley said about "survial", and how many of us today don't have that anymore and we're barely alive. I think that's what I feel like a lot of time in Ithaca, I feel so sheltered and safe that I miss (more) being in an urban setting.

So the show was even better than last. He played Wasted! and In the Sun was perfect, it made me fall in love with the song all over again. He ended the show with a beautiful verison of Invisble Hands, where in the end he took of his guitar and walked to a different mic to loop the background vocals, and it just haunting. Then the ended the song with beats from knocking the mic on the floor. yay we love JA! He's so great. I was taking pictures, bootlegging, calling Kim (poor kim!) and watching the show all the same time. I'm getting good at this multi-tasking! Many of the pictures came out blurry because I only had one hand to hold it. Here ya go.

I also get to meet Angela at the show, I love meeting people at shows! it's amazing how people connect. It just woudln't be the same going to shows with people who wouldn't appreciate the show as much as we dorks. After show I stayed at Mel's and it was really nice seeing her again even thought we didn't have to time to really hang out. I missed Mel.
After the show I was so tired, so I slept fairly well, and wake up in time for the bus to NYC. I was planning on catching the Dresden Dolls at Bowery but it was sold out. I just found out about the band because I was looking for a show to go to on Friday night, I was a little dissapointed but next time i'll be sure to catch them in show, they look like a lot of fun.
