Joan Wasser @ Joe's Pub.
First time seeing Joan playing full band and on a real piano. It sounded great. I hope she opens for JA again in Bowery.

Keren Ann @ Fez

Kim and I had dinner there upstair for the first time right after we came from seeing Joan Wasser at Joe's Pub right across the street. The place was packed and lines that went to the streets. Most of them were there for A girl called Ed. Keren played with a piano player and drummer as well. I love the arrangements her songs. She's becoming my new favorite.

Julia Darling @ Rockwood Music Hall
The new venue is TINY with a pretty spacious bathroom. Julia sings back for JA in the "a smile that explodes" She was really awesome. I'm glad I finally got to see her. I got her CD after the show. (it was free)

you're losing your memory now

One thing I love more than coming home is coming home to a show, a fantastic show no less. Last minute I found out I could take my history midterm two day earlier which means I can come home thursday which means I get to see Ryan Stahr's first solo show since Stage. I had to study for history in the last minute to take it earlier and I don't think I did so well. It really borthered me at first, he is such a good professor and I felt like I've disappointed him. Oh well. After seeing the show, I don't feel that bad anymore. The show was amazing and I had a lot fun. It's so good to be back in the city again.

I'm really loving Ryan's new stuff, I wish he could've brought his piano for the show. I'm such a sucker for piano. Some of the stuff would've sound even more beautiful with piano.
